The business activities must work in coordination to ensure that right services, parts and people are available at the right time and location to achieve operational and project deliverables.

The key business streams are budget, planning and ordering, where each subcomponent ensures that company resources are authorised to be spent and the required parts and services orders are released to support critical maintenance work or project millstones. Additional important subcomponent is engineering and master data planning, especially equipment and asset register structures. Typical business unit tasks include:
